OVERVIEW
LNT Solutions Limited is a specialist technical manufacturing business operating across chemicals, construction and automotive markets, with sites in the UK, Germany and the USA.
Already ISO 14001 certified, the company needed stronger sustainability evidence to support future tender responses and commercial growth.
BACKGROUND
LNT Solutions Limited is part of a larger multinational group operating across chemicals, construction and automotive markets.
The business has sites in Leeds, Germany and the USA, and already held ISO 14001.
LNT was an existing client of The Systems Link.
The opportunity came after the business lost a tender where sustainability had played a significant role. This highlighted that certification alone was not enough. The business also needed clearer evidence, stronger carbon data and a more confident commercial sustainability response.

THE
TRIGGER

LNT was introduced to Ltt Consulting by The Systems Link after losing a tender where sustainability had been an important part of the response.
Philip, the Managing Director, recognised that the sustainability section had not been answered as strongly as it could have been.
He admitted that he had “muddled his way through it.”
This created a clear commercial need. LNT had environmental management systems in place, but needed to strengthen how sustainability was explained, evidenced and used in future tenders.
THE CHALLENGE
The challenge was not whether LNT cared about sustainability.
The challenge was whether the business could clearly explain and evidence what it was already doing.
The client needed help to understand:
- Its current carbon position.
- How ISO 14001 connected to customer and tender expectations.
- What evidence may be needed in future.
- How to respond to sustainability questions more confidently.
- How to turn technical activity into commercially useful sustainability information.
- At the start, the main issue was translation. LNT had systems and activity in place, but needed a clearer way to turn that into evidence customers could understand.

WHAT WE DID
Ltt Consulting held an initial call with LNT to understand the tender challenge and ask practical questions.
Following the call, Ltt prepared a first stage proposal. LNT made a quick decision, agreed to proceed the same day, and paid the invoice immediately.
Ltt then visited the LNT site to understand the business properly. This included seeing the facility, asking operational questions and building a clearer view of how the company worked in practice.
After the site visit, Ltt requested the data needed to complete the baseline.
The data collection process was slower than expected, which is common when a business is completing this type of work for the first time.
The Work Delivered
Ltt completed the initial carbon baseline report and supporting documents.
The work helped LNT understand its carbon position and created a stronger foundation for future sustainability, tender and ISO related activity.
This included:
- A carbon baseline assessment.
- A clearer view of the data needed for future reporting.
- Supporting documentation to help the business evidence its position.
- A stronger starting point for future tender and customer responses.
The Shift
The project showed that having ISO 14001 in place does not automatically make a business ready for sustainability led tenders.
Certification shows that a management system exists.
Tender success increasingly requires evidence, data, confidence and clear commercial language.
The work helped move the conversation from “we have ISO 14001” to “we need to evidence what this means for customers.”
