Four award shortlists, a little over a year in

Update: On 13 October we won Sustainable Supply Chain Partner at Go Green Now's Inner Circle Awards 2026. The Yorkshire Post results follow on 11 November.

Ltt Group is shortlisted three times at the Yorkshire Post Business Awards and once at Go Green Now's Inner Circle Awards, a little over a year after we started.

In July 2025, Ltt Group was a newly registered company and an idea our co-founder Jon Wragg had been carrying for five years. His first attempt had stalled. "It went nowhere because it was the wrong time," he said at our Strategy in Practice webinar in August. "The legislation wasn't there."

Fifteen months on, we've been shortlisted for four awards.

The shortlists

At the Yorkshire Post Business Awards 2026, we're shortlisted for Best Business Start-Up, Best Micro Business and the Sustainability Award. The winners will be announced at New Dock Hall in Leeds on Wednesday 11 November.

We were also shortlisted for Sustainable Supply Chain Partner at Go Green Now's Inner Circle Awards 2026. The category recognises "the organisation who has most effectively helped its clients measure, track and reduce Scope 3 emissions within their supply chain", which is about as close to a description of our work as we could have written ourselves. The results were announced on 13 October at the Circular Tech Expo in Farnborough, and we won.

Jon said: "For a business our size, a little over a year old, to be shortlisted four times is something I'm incredibly proud of. When we started, we had a plan and not much else. What's got us here is our clients. They trusted a brand new company with work their own customers were checking line by line, and they've stuck with us."

What a year looks like

We work with both ends of the supply chain. Large organisations bring us in to understand and reduce the risk among the suppliers they buy from, and we work with those suppliers to meet what's now being asked of them. In our first year that took us into businesses in finance, hospitality, engineering, manufacturing and chemicals.

Along the way we became an EcoVadis Accredited Consulting Partner, signed the Anti-Greenwash Charter and partnered with Vizibli to give smaller businesses a carbon accounting platform they can run themselves. We also hosted and joined four webinars, which you can watch in full.

The pace has been quick. By August, Jon could say "we're now 13 months old as a company and we've evolved three times." He puts the momentum down to working on both sides of the relationship: "We understand what the large businesses need, which is the operational side, what the small businesses and suppliers need, which is the commercial alignment."

The difference it has made for clients

Cotswold Architectural Products came to us with customers asking sustainability questions they weren't sure how to answer. An eight-week sprint gave them a carbon baseline, an internal guide for answering customers, policy and website wording, and a framework for the work ahead. At the start, one of the key people involved was only "10% behind the project". By the end he wanted to recommend us across his industry, and the work has grown into a 24-month partnership.

LNT Solutions already held ISO 14001 but needed to show customers what it meant when they were bidding for work. We visited their site, built their carbon baseline and set out the evidence future tenders would ask for. Donna Wormald, Customer Services Manager at LNT, said they found us "very approachable, knowledgeable, and professional in all aspects of providing us with our Carbon Emissions and Stage 1 Scoping Gap Analysis Reports."

Another client received a tender from a customer they had supplied for years. The sustainability section had gone from 3 to 5% of the marks to 30%, and the buyer wanted evidence under almost every question. They could answer with like-for-like figures from the carbon report we'd built with them, and point the scorer straight to the right page.

What Jon is seeing in the market

Buyers have changed what they ask for, and how closely they check it. "Procurement is no longer asking you for an accreditation. Most of your competitors will have it," Jon said on Go Green Now's webinar in August. "So, that's seen as the benchmark." What they want instead is proof: "what they're now asking under pretty much every question is, can you prove it?"

The weighting has moved with it. On a LinkedIn Live with Alex Thornton, Jon described a tender where sustainability used to count for 5% of the marks: "that's no longer 5%, it's 63%. And they're no longer asking how good the product is because the product isn't even in the discussion."

For suppliers who can't keep up, the consequences are blunt. "The easiest way to reduce risk in the supply chain is just get rid of those that don't comply," he said. "It sounds harsh, but it's a really easy way and it's a really easy win for purchasing people who are KPI'd on these things." His advice to suppliers is just as direct: "You can no longer ignore it and hope it goes away."

The reason is that large businesses are now accountable for what they buy, and, as Jon puts it, "you are their footprint if you're a supplier." That matters a lot in South Yorkshire and beyond. "What we have, the M1 and M18 corridor, is a supply chain," he said. "We have a lot of businesses that make a lot of stuff, but they do not understand this on a commercial level."

He doesn't see it as bad news. "I think what's happened is sustainability has grown up," he said. For a supplier who can show their numbers and explain what they mean, it has become a way to win work rather than a box to tick.
