How Much Does EcoVadis Cost for Small Businesses?

The first thing most small businesses do when told they need EcoVadis is google the price. What they find is alarming. Enterprise licensing fees. Annual subscriptions that look like they were designed for multinational corporations. Immediately, the assumption is that this is going to cost a fortune.

It is not. Here is what it costs for a business your size.

What you pay to EcoVadis directly

You pay the EcoVadis subscription fee directly to EcoVadis. EcoVadis pricing varies, so it's worth getting in touch with them.

That fee gives you access to the platform, allows you to complete the questionnaire, and entitles you to a scorecard you can share with any customer who asks. The scorecard is valid for 12 months. After that, you update and resubmit.

The enterprise pricing you find online, the numbers in the tens of thousands, is what large corporations pay to subscribe to EcoVadis as buyers. They are paying to assess their suppliers. You, as a supplier being assessed, pay a fraction of that.

What you pay for consultancy support

The EcoVadis subscription gets you onto the platform. It does not help you complete the questionnaire or gather the evidence you need. That is where many businesses struggle, and where consultancy support comes in.

At Ltt Group, we offer fixed-price packages that cover everything from a review and route map through to guided support all the way to submission. The lighter option gives you a gap analysis against the four EcoVadis themes and a prioritised action plan with an evidence checklist, so you can do the submission yourself with our guidance. The fuller option adds step-by-step guidance through registration, section-by-section review, customer communication advice, and a final readiness review before you submit. Other consultancies charge differently. Pricing in the market varies widely. A full EcoVadis preparation project from a mid-range firm tends to be priced according to scope and how much hand-holding is needed.

Is the investment worth it?

That depends entirely on what is at stake. When the customer relationship tied to your EcoVadis score represents a meaningful share of revenue, the cost of getting professional support is small compared to the risk of losing the contract. We have worked with suppliers where significant revenue was tied to a single customer relationship that required an EcoVadis score. In those situations, the cost of getting it right is always small compared to the risk of losing the contract.

There is also a multiplier effect. Once you have done the work for one customer, the scorecard is valid for 12 months and can be shared with any customer who uses EcoVadis. If you supply into multiple companies that require it, the cost is spread across all of those relationships. The first time is the most expensive. Annual renewals are lighter because the policies and evidence base already exist.

Can you do it yourself without a consultant?

Yes, and many businesses do. If you have someone internally who can dedicate the time, who understands what the questionnaire is asking, and who can gather and organise the evidence, it is possible to do it without external support.

The risk is the first submission. A weak submission gives you a low score that takes 12 months to improve. There is no opportunity to resubmit early. If your customer needs a Silver and you come back as unrated because the evidence was insufficient, you have lost a year. For many businesses, the investment in getting professional support for the first submission pays for itself by avoiding that scenario.

The cheapest way to start

If budget is the primary concern and the deadline is not immediate, start by registering on the EcoVadis platform and reviewing the questionnaire structure. Read through the questions. Identify which ones you can answer with evidence you already have. That gives you a picture of the gap before you spend anything on consultancy.

If you want professional guidance without a large commitment, our discovery session gives you a 90-minute consultation, a clear view of where you stand, and practical next steps. It will tell you which level of support you need, or whether you can manage on your own. Get in touch for current pricing.
